OCTOBER 2004
STRENGTHENING OF
THE NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH SCHEME
The Neighbourhood Watch scheme for Trysull and Seisdon has been strengthened with the recruitment of additional volunteer co-ordinators (click on link above for details of all co-ordinators).
Your Parish Council fully supports the Neighbourhood Watch scheme and is pleased that the scheme will now continue with the support of the additional volunteers.
It has been clearly demonstrated that areas with an active Neighbourhood Watch Scheme have less crime, particularly opportunist crime. If we can play a part in reducing crime we all stand to gain an improved quality of life as well as other benefits such as lower insurance premiums and increased property values. The Neighbourhood watch Scheme is run by local volunteers supported by the Police. To derive the maximum benefit we all need to play a part, additional volunteers will be welcome so if you are willing to help and would like more information please contact your local co-ordinator or deputy.
Always report anything suspicious, no matter how trivial it may seem.
The Parish Council would like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to the late Alan Langstaff for his contribution to the Seisdon scheme as the Area Co-ordinator, he will be sadly missed.
